CAMPO CONNECTION Newsletter
Edition 5: September 3, 2021
Hello Parents and Students,
Congratulations to Mr. Minor whose last day was on Tuesday. After serving Campo Elementary School for 13 years as our Campus Supervisor, Mr. Minor will now be able to enjoy more time with his family, friends, and service to his church. Mr. Minor has touched so many people's lives through his kindness, encouragement, and love. We will miss you Mr. Minor. Glad you are willing to sub for us once in a while LOL.
Welcome our new Campus Supervisors: Kim Jaimes and Megan Bender. These two have stepped right in getting to know our students and ensuring everyone is being safe, respectful, and responsible.
Back to school night will be virtual via Zoom on September 9th. There are too many people in our Mountain Empire Community that have been testing positive, being a close contact, or having symptoms. Teachers will be sending the parents a zoom link by September 8th. Their presentation will start at 5:00 and end at 5:25. They will be available to answer questions from 5:30 - 6:00 about their classroom expectations, grade level standards, and curriculum that is being used.
T-shirt Vote: Every class had an opportunity to vote, and the winner is #2 . See the picture at the end of the newsletter. Thank you to Chrysal Gillet for her creative design. The cost of the shirt, the payment process and due date will be provided by the next newsletter.
Character Card winners: So many students have been earning Character cards for showing great character: Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Trustworthiness, Fairness and Citizenship. Four names were drawn from each grade level bucket, and they earned a prize. See below for their names.
Patriot Day is on Saturday, September 11th. We will be honoring the September 11 event on Friday the 10th by being patriots and wearing our Red, White, and Blue. I have some Patriotic 6th graders creating a Freedom walk parade first thing in the morning.
PIQE: Wednesday was the first course for the Parent Engagement for a Quality Education. There were a total of 21 families who participated between Campo Elementary and Clover Flat Elementary. I was on the zoom for the English presentation and Principal Lugo was on the zoom for the Spanish presentation. This is exciting because they will learn how to navigate education through high school and college by learning about A-G courses, financial aide, have effective parent/school conferences and more. If you are still interested in participating, you can still register. Call or email me.
Labor Day is on Monday. No School
Thank you, and Have a great weekend!
School Site Council is a great opportunity for you...
I have two parents who have contacted me about their interest to serve on our School Site Council. I need three more parents. This is a great opportunity for you to learn about our Title 1 budget and how your tax dollars are being spent. You will learn about the process of how our school creates the annual goals. You have the right to vote for the supplemental curriculum we want to purchase. We need your voice on this committee. We ONLY meet four times per year. Call me, email me, or inform your teacher. I want to have the ballots out next week. Thank you.
