A Brief Note from Dr. Burke

Dear Ram families,


I am happy to report that we had a wonderful start to the school year. Thank you for sending us such amazing kids! I made it into nearly every classroom on campus this week and the kids were engaged and happy to be back in school. Thanks to those of you who have emailed with compliments about our teachers. We have worked really hard to hire, develop and retain the best.


Now that we are headed into our first full week of school and people are figuring out the drop off and pick up routine, I would like to ask that you adhere to all traffic and public safety regulations on our school property and in the surrounding neighborhood. Please be respectful of our neighbors' property and obey all traffic laws, so that we can help keep our students safe at and around our school.


I will close with a reminder that we are still in need of a parent representative for our School Site Council.


I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow and remember it's a 3/5/1 day!

School Site Council Member Position Available

This year, our School Site Council has one (1) open parent position for a two-year (2019 – 2021) term. The School Site Council consists of elected members representing parents, teachers, students, the school principal, and other school employees, each of whom serve a 2 year term. The council will meet approximately 3-4 times during the school year to review school-wide goals, discuss site monetary funds, and approve a yearly plan for student achievement.


If you are interested in running for an open position, please submit your name, your student’s name, and a brief description of no more than 200 words introducing yourself and explaining why you are running for the position to Assistant Principal, Shaylene Newman at jnewman@powayusd.com. You can also bring your written submission to the Administration Office. This description will be added to the election ballot. The deadline for submitting your name for candidacy is Monday, August 26th at 9:30 am. An election ballot will be created and emailed to all families next week. We will also make arrangements for in-person voting.


We greatly appreciate your willingness to support Twin Peaks Middle School with your time.

Schedule Change Requests

Schedule Change Information:

Elective change request forms are available at Mrs. Myers’ desk in the counseling office before school, during break or lunch, or after school. Forms must be signed by a parent/guardian and they must be returned by 3:30pm on Tuesday, Aug. 27th.

Volunteers Needed for Library

Our TPMS Library needs volunteers. If you have never volunteered before this is a great opportunity to help your school out. Please click here for more detailed information.
