The First week of School

Ready to Get Learning?

I am super excited to have each student in my class this year and I hope each of you is ready to start GROWING. Here is the plan for this week

Monday -Wednesday:

1) Conferences and chromebooks being passed out

2) Lessons, videos, and paper and pencil activities (see below for more details)


Thursday-Friday

1) Kids get on google classroom for daily lessons

2) 3 daily zoom meetings (see details below)


I realize this first week is going to be a little new, maybe a little overwhelming, and hopefully fun too. Please know I am here for each of you and I will help you through this as much as I can. My contact info is located at the bottom.

Learning Targets for the Week

1) I can name 2 dimensional shapes and list attributes.

2) I can write sentences using correct capitalization and punctuation.

3) I can name coins and add money.

4) I can discuss and follow rules of the zoom classroom

Monday

Reading:

1) Teacher Read Aloud: Lilly's Purple Purse

2) Make a Me Bag by putting in 3 things that are important to you

Math:

1) Watch the video

2) Go on a scavenger hunt searching for all the squares, rectangles, and triangles you can find. Send a picture on class dojo (if you can).

Tuesday

Reading:

1) Teacher Read Aloud What I Did on my Summer Vacation

2) Write about your summer vacation (don't forget to space, use capitalization and periods)

Math:

1) Money Hunt: Working with a parent, sibling, or guardian hunt around your house for 5 pennies, 2 nickles, and 4 dimes. Once you have found all your money add it up and send me a dojo message with its total value:)

2) watch the video below if you need a refresher on money value

Wednesday

Writing:

1) Find the person outline in your school packet. Draw yourself in your favorite clothes, then around you write words that describe you or draw pictures of what is important to you.

Math:

1) Watch the videos

2) gather collections of objects that equal 11. For examples 10 legos plus 1 pokemon cards= 11. 5 crayons plus 4 hatchimals plus 2 stickers =11, How many different ways can you make twenty? Take a picture of your favorite one and send it to me on dojo.
