Breakfast and Books: Book Club to Movie Event

Marcus Theatres contacted us yesterday. They have to push back the pre-release premiere because the studio has pushed back the release day of the movie.

What does that mean for you and your family?

The movie will be on Thursday, January 21 at 7pm. (One week later than originally planned.)

Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, January 19th at 7:30am and run through Thursday, January 21 at noon. Tickets can be purchased in the media center. They are $7 each. We can accept cash only.

Students can purchase tickets for themselves and/or family members. This is an event for all Shakopee students and families.

Students that were part of our breakfast and books club can pick up their ticket on Tuesday, January 19th as well. (I didn't want the kids to have them that long in fear they would get lost. I cannot replace a lost ticket.)

Feel free to email if you questions. My contact information is at the bottom of this email.

Watch the video for details about our pre-release event & to view an official movie trailer.

What is the Young Author’s Conference?

This conference offers young writers an opportunity to think deeply about what compels them and others throughout the ages to express themselves using the written word. The keynote address and hands-on breakout sessions led by published authors, journalists, poets, songwriters, playwrights and more will challenge and motivate students to better understand themselves as writers, encouraging them to take their writing to a deeper level.

This year’s theme is “Why Write?” and the keynote speaker is keynote speaker, Joe Horton, is a powerful performing artist and rapper and professor of Songwriting and Composition at McNally Smith College of Music!

Want to apply? Pick up a registration form from the media center.

Fill it out and return it with a writing sample and $26 for your registration. If we have more than 25 applicants, we will use your writing sample to determine who attends.

You can also print the registration sheet at home. Click on the link below.
