Praise and Prayers


We give praise for a wonderful Sunday Worship service. The annual Varsity Sunday celebration was well attended and the food, fellowship, and fun was excellent!


Bill and Brenda Edwards are asking for prayers for Tom Davis as his getting chemo treatments.

Chet and Colleen Vier are asking for prayers for Stephanie Gramberg, their niece, she was placed in hospice.

Marty Boyd is asking for prayers for his father, who is out of the hospital after being treated for congestive heart failure.

Ken Greene is asking for prayers as he's dealing with health issues and testing.

Lynn Brown is asking for prayers for Rob Brown, he had knee surgery on Friday.

Nora Pelowski is asking for prayers, she is recovering from a back procedure.

Neal Hester lifts up Clark Dowdy, he had colon surgery at Rockdale Hospital.

The Carver's ask that you prayer for Jimmy Drummond, he will have his leg amputated on 10/01/2015. Also for Juda Smaltz's Family, (mother of daughter in law) she passed from cancer Saturday.

Barbara Greene is asking for prayers for her brother, Larry Rymer, he is having a Heart Cath surgery Monday.

Allan McDonald is asking that you prayer for Vicki McDonald, she is being treated at Eastside Medical Center for heart issues.

Alexis Nation lifts up classmates of hers who were in a terrible car accident

We lift up the family of Bob Dickerson, whose wife Karen Dickerson passed away on Tuesday afternoon.


Food Bank Collection

Don't forget on the 1st Sunday of the month we collect donations for the Rockdale County Emergency Relief Food Bank. If you would like to donate please leave items on the cart in the narthex this Sunday Morning, October 4th.

Happy Hearts

Happy Hearts will be meeting at O’Charley’s this Friday October 2nd at 11:30AM. Come join in our enchanting time of fellowship and a delicious lunch!

Church Workday

Come and lend a helping hand Saturday, October 3rd from 9am--1pm. If you want the Men's Club to make you a some breakfast, please RSVP to the church office.

Items for the workday include: storage trailer painting, road sign cleaning, sanctuary and classroom cleaning, kitchen organization, light bulb replacement, and several other items. Please help us get ready for the Fall!

· Clean Church Sign

· Paint annex bldg.

· Change lights on motion lamps outside church side area

· Straighten signs in front parking lot

· Clean Kitchen area

· Dust chair rails in Sunday School areas and throughout the church

· Clean Custodial closet

· Refresh Inspirational Guides in hallway

· Organize any areas needed

Scripture Reading Orientation

Want to practice public speaking by reading scripture during worship? Then please join this special training event for new and old scripture readers on October 4th at 10:00am in the sanctuary. This event is led by Mary Lynn Luke. You’ll learn some helpful tips on making your presentation of scripture more understandable and smooth with our new sound system. Please RSVP to or 770-388-7438.

Marriage Enrichment Group

October 4th at 5:00PM—7:00PM in the Sanctuary, is our next Marriage Enrichment Group. From newlyweds to empty nesters and blended families, anyone who cares about their marriage is invited to become a part of our monthly couples group. A typical evening includes light food, introduction to an insightful and fun couple’s exercise, and then a short time of reflection and discussion. RSVP for Childcare. Contact Rev.
