Weekly Newsletter
During this week we talked about how most homes share certain features.I invited children to describe their home environment. We pointed out that our homes have a place to sleep, a place to eat, things to play with, etc. We concluded that like us, each type of pet has its own kind of home. We call the place or types of place where an animal lives a habitat.

Then we discussed "How do Birds build their nests?" We talked about materials, skills, and uses.
During playground, children gathered materials they felt would be useful to build a nest.
On Wednesday, children used play dough and whatever they gathered on Monday and Tuesday to build their own Best Nest.
Feeding baby birds
Wiggly worms!
Mother birds feed their babies wiggly worms while they stay safe in their nest. Those wiggly worms can be hard to hang on to! This sensory bin is a big bird nest full of wiggly worms and baby birds waiting to be fed. Kids strengthened fine motor muscles and had fun playing all at the same time!
