Eisenhower Middle School Back to School Information
WELCOME BACK PATRIOTS
Dear Eisenhower Students and Families,
We are super excited to start the 2022-2023 school year. It will be a remarkable year for our students, full of exciting learning.
Our school year goal is to provide a world-class education focused on student achievement, safety, and social-emotional support. To be ready for these high expectations, we wanted to ensure we share some of our expectations early to prepare for the school year.
Below you will find details about patriots' day (student orientation), school supplies, registration, immunization, back-to-school information, dress code, and more. This is an informative message to prepare for the start of the school year, but we will ensure that we send another back-to-school message before the first day.
We look forward to seeing you.
Educationally Yours,
Principal

Welcome back students and families! I am proud to serve as your principal this school year. As a first-generation Haitian-American and someone who was one of the first to go to college in my family, I believe education has the potential to open many doors of opportunities. I am happy to serve this diverse Eisenhower community.

Must Have Facts for Success At Eisenhower
Before a child may attend a school or childcare in the state of Washington, the parent/guardian must provide proof of their immunization status. The attendance of every child at every public school in the state of Washington shall be conditioned upon the presentation before or on each child's first day of attendance at a particular school or center, of proof of either (a) full immunization, (b) the initiation of and compliance with a schedule of immunization, as required by rules of the state board of health, or (c) a certificate of exemption as provided for in RCW 28A.210.090.
Parents, foster parents, and guardians are responsible for their child meeting immunization requirements. Parents must submit a complete and medically verified Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS) to their child’s school, preschool, or child care before the child can attend. See WAC 246-105-050 for more information.
The immunization requirements for the 2022-2023 school year can be found here.
Once we have received your documents, we will determine your child’s compliance with the state immunization requirements. If additional info, documentation or immunizations are needed, we will be in contact. As a reminder students must be in compliance with the state immunization requirements before they can start school.

Cell Phones
Cell phones can be very distracting for students in the learning environment. Our goal is to have all of our students at school fully engaged in their learning.
Here is how staff will deal with cell phones that are not in the backpacks.
Ask student to put cell phone away. Contact family.
If this is a second offense or student refuses to put their phone away, call the office to bring the phone to the office
Notify parent/guardian as soon as possible of infraction, and that parent/guardian pick-up of cellphone from office is required
As we enter into a new school year, we would love to share with you ways that you can help support your students' success. One of the biggest distractions that students have today is the cell phone. Knowing that many parents have concerns around safety and cell phone usage. Below are some resources that you can use to help with cell phone usage. One idea is to have your student’s cell phone turned off from social media during the school day, but they can still contact specific adults.
