Principal's Message
Dear Eagle Crest Families,
This week was teacher appreciation week, both across the country and locally. In my short time here at Eagle crest, I am continually impressed by how hard my teachers work each day and by how much they give of themselves in their pursuit to support students to be the best that they can be.
Thank you to all of our families for making Teacher Appreciation Week a special time in our school community. Every day we strive to show appreciation to all of our teachers and staff, AND special weeks are a fun way to celebrate too!
I hope you have a great weekend!
Warmly,
Amanda

Dean of Students Message
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
Yesterday we hosted our last assembly of the school year! Our focus for this month was celebration. We recognized our Teachers of the Year, our robotics team headed to the World Championship next week and our many 100 Mile Club accomplishments. The Handchime Choir performed for us and Mrs. Cooper and Mrs. Hansen shared about their trip to Uganda. Our 5th Grade Communication Team did an excellent job presenting too! News from the Library
Tomorrow, Friday, May 6th is the last day for students to check out library books this school year. And for those with library books at home, please help your student(s) find the books and bring them back to school starting next week. Students have found books under beds, in cars, behind sofas and sometimes even mixed in with their own books!
All library books need to be returned to the library by Monday, May 23rd. After that date, books will be considered lost and lost book fees will be assigned to your student's account in Infinite Campus and can be paid online through RevTrak.
If your student(s) is working on a project for school and needs the book a bit longer, they may keep their books until the project is turned in.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me at beckett_joan@svvsd.org or at (303) 485-6073 ext. 22313
Thank you for helping get books back to the library for other students to read and enjoy!
End of Year Picnic
This year we are bringing back the tradition of the End of Year Community Picnic. On Thursday, May 26th, families are welcome to attend this all school community event. We will gather on the back field from 11:00am-12:00pm for a fun lunch to celebrate the end of the school year. Bring your chairs, a picnic blanket and a picnic lunch for your family. At the end of your picnic, you are welcome to sign your child out for the day and take them home.
More info will be coming from your classroom teacher as we get closer to the end of the year!
What’s Happening at Mwebaza Annex School in Uganda!
All Students in Uganda are finishing up a three week break. Term 2 starts on May 9th. During this break at Mwebaza Annex the teachers have been working hard to make some changes in the chicken program so that it is becoming more sustainable. The goal is the lunch program for students and to make a profit on the eggs they sell. The staff is working with community members that also raise chickens and a more efficient business plan is up and running. Next step is to research and begin making plans for a social enterprise business that will begin to cover the cost of student fees. It’s a school and community project that everyone is excited about.
The video below was made by the Mwebaza Foundation Creative Director - Abigail Scott.
