7 Mindsets

On Monday morning we have a house meeting! We are going to talk about We are Connected. We are connected reminds us to choose to be around people who build us up and help us live our dreams. We are Connected reminds us to make friends who help us make good choices in life and empower us! What does it mean to empower one another? Your house leaders are going to look for you to answer this question in your house meeting. Can you give an example of a time you empowered a friend or family member? We can’t wait to hear your responses.

Kindergarten Round Up

Kindergarten Roundup will be held at the Almon C. Hill Educational Center and NOT at individual schools. Mashburn students will register from March 28-April 1.

HOW TO REGISTER:

  • Make an appointment to come to the Hill Center to register
  • Review and gather all documents*
  • Pre-register your child’s information into our online system

* If you are missing any documents please still register. You will be incomplete but you can return documents at a later time convenient to you. This will allow the school to have your contact information and inform you of upcoming Kindergarten events.

Thanks to Lou Sobh Honda!

Mashburn Elementary is proud to announce our partnership with Lou Sobh Honda. We are so grateful for their sponsorship of our gym renovations with a donation of $5000. Their generosity will directly benefit our Mashburn students and their families. We can't wait to share some photos of the improvements. Are you in the market for a new vehicle? They will also donate $250 to Mashburn if you purchase a car from them and tell them you are from Mashburn. Thanks Lou Sobh Honda-we appreciate your commitment to helping us reach our goal!

News From the Gym

Attention Students!!! We want pictures of YOU!!!! We have a bulletin board in the Gym that is in need of some flair. Please bring in a picture of yourself doing something active. Playing sports, playing outside, walking the dog, anything that involves you and some sort of exercising. We will hang these pictures up in the gym for the whole school to see. We can't wait to see what you bring.

Media Volunteers

Do you have a little extra time on your hands? Would you like to help out our school? Mrs. Hobbs is looking for some regular volunteers to help with routine media center tasks as well as to help prepare for the media center upgrade/remodel that is coming our way soon. Come meet Mrs. Hobbs and learn how you can help. You can contact her at khobbs@forsyth.k12.ga.us or at 770-889-1630, extension 750145.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to the Mashburn Robotics Teams who participated in a super regional tournament in Warner Robins, GA this past weekend at the Museum of Aviation. Both teams earned accomplished and exemplary ratings in all areas and scored in the top 50% of all teams in robot performance. The ShockBots Team will be traveling to state competition at UGA in early February.

Planning Ahead

3rd-5th grade parents- go ahead mark your calendars for the upcoming GA Milestone Assessment. Testing begins Thursday April 14th and will conclude on Friday April 29th. We ask that you do not plan doctor’s appointments or other events that require your child to miss school during this time. A detailed letter will be coming home in the near future as well as information on our upcoming parent breakfast.
