We Did It!
Updates
- Work will continue on the playground throughout next week. There is a possibility that concrete replacement will begin on the remainder of the playground. Contingency plans are in place for recess supervision.
- The tile was finally removed and replaced on the third floor of our original building. Apologies again to our staff members that were displaced throughout our professional development week. Your patience and understanding during this time was greatly appreciated.
- Agendas were distributed to 2nd-8th grade classrooms last week. If you need additional student agendas, please send Mr. Parra an email. These are valuable teaching tools that help students with goal setting and organizational skills. Please review the various features with your students and remind them daily to write down assignments and due dates.
Dress Code for Students (and staff members)
- Please remind your students and/or their parents about our school dress code.
- If a student arrives out of uniform send home a uniform reminder (a copy will be sent later today via email).
- If your room gets cold (especially our annex classrooms) encourage students to keep a sweater or sweatshirt in the coatroom.
- Kindergarten and PreK: Ask parents to provide an emergency change of clothing for their children (accidents sometimes happen).
- Staff members---remember to dress comfortably (yet professional) and for safety reasons avoid wearing "flip flops" or other backless shoes.
- If you are having a jean day as an incentive for your classroom--send me an email. I'll always say yes...it just helps to know in advance.
- Friday is casual day for our staff members. Feel free to wear your comfy jeans and tee shirts/sweatshirts tomorrow:)

Parent Volunteers

- Mr. Rangel and Mr. Jettner--thanks for all of your help setting up and taking down the tables.
- Mrs. Arana did a fabulous job running our book giveaway. Thank you to the lovely helpers that worked diligently putting books away after our event.
- To all of our staff members that helped with the backpacks...you rock!
- To my chefs and clean up team--words can't express my gratitude. The Staff BBQ is such a nice tradition and your help with the operations side of the event is critical.
- Welcome to our newest ESP, Jacquelyn Espinoza. She works in room 130 with the full day preschool. Make sure to stop by 130 and introduce yourself.
