No School Monday, May 25th, in Honor of Memorial Day
Summer Math Training Opportunity - Due by this Friday
LSS will be offering a full day of training from Houghton-Mifflin consultants on Math Expressions Common Core Edition during the summer. The training will be held on Tuesday, July 21 from 8:00-3:00 and will be grade level specific. Details on location will be coming soon. You will receive a special daily rate for attending, but if you are unable to attend the July date, there will be a make-up date scheduled in August. Since Math Expressions has been taught in our district for a while, this training will be specifically designed to highlight the changes in the Common Core edition, how to use the resources available to support your instruction, and how to manage the resources found in Think Central. We hope you can take advantage of this opportunity to learn! Please RSVP as soon as you can so that we can reserve our trainers for the day with the following link:

PLAB REP ANNOUNCEMENT -
: PFT is pleased to announce the selection of two new Teacher Representatives to serve on the Professional Learning Advisory Board (PLAB) for the next three school years:

We are sorry to see the following members go, but extend our warmest congratulations on their retirement and our most sincere thanks for their dedicated service:

• Karen O’Connor (ABES teacher and PLAB Teacher Representative)
The Professional Learning Advisory Board works to coordinate a high quality professional learning program at the district level for PUSD teachers and also governs the Teaching and Learning Cooperative Program (TLC).
If you are interested in enrolling in a TLC class, please go to www.powayusd.com under Employees, Professional Development, TLC Opportunities, Information, and Current Proposals. If you would like assistance writing your own TLC course, please email Maria De Ocampo at mdeocampo@powayusd.com to be assigned a Teacher Representative to assist you.
