Thank you!
Thank you to all of the parents who helped with our fall party. A great time was had by all! Special thanks to Mrs. Rudy for organizing the party, and to all of our family members who were here today!
Parent Teacher Conferences Schedule is attached below.
I tried my best to give everyone one of their selected times. Hopefully it worked out! If something comes up and you can't attend at your time, please give me a call or email and we can reschedule.

Red Ribbon Week
We will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week Oct. 24-28. This week is to emphasize the importance of being drug free. Please have your child wear red on Wednesday.
Wednesday- We won't let drugs Stop us (Wear Red)
Grandparent Interviews -If your child has not returned their interview, it is due NO LATER THAN MONDAY, OCT. 24. We are starting to work on the presentation on Monday so it MUST be here. I've sent additional copies home today with those who haven't returned them.
Grandparent's Day for MY CLASS will be Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 8:30-9:30. The students can invite as many grandparents as they would like. We cannot accommodate grandparents for lunch on that day- our cafeteria is bursting at the seams with just our students. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.
Parent Teacher Conferences-Oct. 24 and Oct. 27
Please see the attached document for your assigned time for conferences!
Book It Program: Keep reading for 20 min. each night!
Jackets Needed!
Please send a sweatshirt or jacket with your child to wear during morning recess. It is still very chilly at 10:30 when we go outside. Thank you!
Reading
This week we are working on identifying story elements (characters, setting, problem, solution) in our stories. We continue to review skills from the past units (main idea/ details, characterization, multiple meaning words, synonyms, etc.)
Reading Homework: no reading homework over fall break!
Math
- pair up objects to identify even or odd numbers
- make a drawing and write a sentence to prove a number is even or odd
- write an equation to show an even number as a sum of 2 equal addends
- look at the ones place of a number to determine if it is even or odd
English and Writing
Nouns vs. Verbs- we are learning to identify both in sentences. Difficult work, for sure! We finished up publishing our grandparent poetry using Google Docs. We started working on our Google Slides presentation using the information from our grandparent interviews. Lots of work for my little typists!
