Parent Teacher Conferences
PLEASE PARTICIPATE IN PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11TH
CONFERENCES CAN BE HELD IN PERSON AT LHS, VIA ZOOM VIDEO CALL, OR BY TELEPHONE
Please show your support for your child’s education by attending our parent-teacher conferences on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 12:00 to 7:30 PM.
In order to schedule an in-person meeting, Zoom video call, or phone conference, please contact your child’s teacher by e-mail or telephone in order to arrange a time from 12-4 or 4:30-7:30 PM. These conferences will be limited to 5-10 minutes so that we can increase the number of parents who can meet with individual teachers. There will be no conferences held from 4:00 - 4:30 PM so that all staff members can have ample time for classroom/conference preparation and dinner. If you are having difficulty setting up a conference for this date, please call 717-273-9391 ext. 1500 or 1501 and we will help you get in contact with your child’s teacher.

There will be no cost for LHS students to take the PSATs.

Notes From Mr. Giovino
KNOWING YOUR CHILD’S ACADEMIC STATUS
Every Wednesday, all students at Lebanon High School will be taking a screen shot of their current grades from PowerSchool to show you on their iPad. Please make it part of your Wednesday night routine to discuss their grades and inform us if you need any assistance.
In order to keep you posted on your child’s academic status, your child’s teachers will have a progress report waiting for you at conferences. If you cannot make it for conferences, a progress report will be sent home with your child. If your child does not bring this progress report home, please contact either our guidance department at 273-9391 (ext. 1505 or 1506) or me directly at ext. 1510 or via e-mail at wgiovino@lebanon.k12.pa.us to receive another copy.
October is Anti-Bullying Month
Please help Lebanon High School to Stomp Out Bullying by:
- Encouraging your child to join the Lebanon Student Body’s BLUE HAND GROUP whose main focus is to spread the anti-bullying message.
- Remind your child that if they are a victim or witness an act of bullying please notify any adult (teacher, counselor, administrator, etc.) in the building by either talking with them privately, sending a message to Mr. Giovino via Schoology, using the Safe 2 Say app, OR by putting an anonymous tip in the BLUE HAND TIP BOX located in the main high school office.
- Read and review the School Board of Director’s Bullying/Cyberbullying Policy #218.5 with your child.
- Wear BLUE shirts on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30th to show your support for Anti-Bullying. All students who participate will have their name entered to win a gift certificate to A & M.
“Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one’s definition of your life, but define yourself.”- Harvey Fierstein
Information for Seniors
In order to graduate from Lebanon High School, all students must accumulate twenty-four (24) credits through a combination of required and elective courses, as well as complete a school-to-career transition plan through Naviance. In addition, Pennsylvania’s new graduation requirement, Act 158 of 2018, was signed into law on October 24, 2018. The new graduation pathways require all students to take the three Keystone Exams (Algebra 1, Biology, and Literature). Starting with the Class of 2023, in order to graduate from any school in our state, students also need to meet the criteria of one of the following pathways:
- Score Proficient or Advanced on all three of the Keystone Exams
- Score a minimum combined total of 4552 on all of the Keystone Exams or 2939 for two of the Keystone Exams
- Meet the requirements of either the Career & Technological Education Concentrator Pathway, Alternative Assessment Pathway, or the Evidence-Based Pathway
Lebanon School District Policy #217 (located on the school district’s website) explains the graduation requirements in further detail.
