AFUHSD Pandemic Update #4
Dear Parents and Students,
The Agua Fria Union High School District teachers and staff appreciate the work of all community stakeholders to continue to operate safely during the past thirteen months of the pandemic. We realize progress continues to be made through safety protocols and the recent introduction of the vaccine for educational professionals and front line workers. Enclosed in this update you will find a survey which will help us in planning our fourth quarter schedules and possible return to in person learning opportunities. Please fill out the survey accordingly. As you know teachers and staff will be returning to their work sites fully on February 24, 2021. While remote classes will continue for students at this time we are carefully monitoring conditions for possible consideration for in person classes starting in the latter part of March based on evidence for a safe return. The school board has directed the district administration to work toward a possible goal if metrics continue to improve. Your survey input will help us determine the most appropriate learning model for those who choose to remain remote. We will keep you posted on our planning progress. Also, graduations are currently on track for State Farm Stadium with some possible restrictions. Please watch for more information from the school site administrators concerning this important event for our seniors.

A Few Reminders on Safety Guidelines and Protocols
As Covid-19 data improves, it is important that we do not lose sight of the importance of continuing with our safety protocols and mitigation plans. These plans will allow us to remain in school. Below you will find some general reminders when students return to school. As we approach our return date, more detailed information will be provided to families.
- Masks must be worn at all times.
- Masks must be worn on the bus.
- The daily health screener must be completed every day by all students.
- Social distancing will be enforced as feasible.
- Students with symptoms will be isolated and evaluated for next steps.
- Students will assist with disinfecting their learning space.
- Virtual meetings will continue. Visits needing to be in-person will require an appointment.
Most important, please do not send your child to school if they are having symptoms consistent with Covid-19.
