Thomas Jefferson's presidency

Thomas Jefferson once elected president had to face different situations. Like the embargo act where all exports from the U.S. where Illegal to force Britain and France to respect American rights. The Louisiana purchase( which doubled the size of the U.S. )and Lewis and Clark exploring the vast new acquisition was something where not many agreed. Congress thought the purchase was just a lose of money instead of it helping get rid of the war dept. Others thought that Jefferson used the elastic clause( where it states the government can do things that are necessary and proper to run the government ) to purchase the territory. Later on he also had to face Marbury V. Madison where Jefferson told Madison, his secretary of state, not to let Marbury have the job of justice of the peace. Of curse Marbury sued to get his job back where the case established a judicial review. The supreme court reviews actions of the president and laws passed by congress. Jefferson faced many things during his presidency and for that he is very well known.
