Girls Track Looks for Eighth State Championship
After taking an unprecedented seventh consecutive District I Track and Field Championship this past weekend, the Panthers Girls Track and Field team is heading to Shippensburg University for this weekend’s state championships meet. The program is hungry for its eighth state title. Six girls are competing in 11 events, including junior Brianna Smith (above middle) in the long jump, high jump, 100mH and 300mH; senior Bria Barnes (above left) in the 200m and 400m; senior Ciani Fleming (above right) in the 200m; junior Janelle Williams (right) in the 1600m; and sophomore Talia Simpson and freshman Cydney Wynn who will team with Barnes and Fleming in the 400m relay.

More than 300 Guests Celebrate Intergenerational Day at EP
A decades-long tradition, Intergenerational Day brought more than 300 guests to Elkins Park School on Wednesday, May 22. On this day, fifth grade students invite a special someone from a different generation to spend the day with them at school. Students and adults enjoyed classroom activities such as Kahoot trivia competitions, music bingo, art projects, iPad scavenger hunts and fierce games of badminton in the gymnasium. Boys Track Races to States
The Panthers Boys Track team qualified several individuals and a relay for the 2019 PIAA state championships this weekend at Shippensburg University. Mason Jones (below) qualified by winning the district title in the 100mH, while junior Nate Edwards placed third in the 100m with a time of 11.09. The 4x100m relay team of Jones, Edwards, junior Jamir Barnes and sophomore Sam Sykes qualified after finishing third in districts with a time of 42.08.

Spirit Animals Ultimate Club Team Heads to States
The Cheltenham Ultimate club team contends for the state title with 15 other teams from across at the commonwealth this weekend at CONSOL Energy Sports Complex at Turner Valley. Playing out of Pool B, the Spirit Animals are the No. 14 seed and will face the other members of their pool on Saturday: No. 2 Franklin Regional at 9 a.m., No. 7 Holy Ghost Prep at 11 a.m. and No. 11 Radnor at 1 p.m. Twelve teams qualify for the quarterfinals, which takes place Sunday. The Spirit Animals head into the tournament with a starting lineup of junior captain Colin McLaughlin, seniors Lionel Smoler-Schatz, Julian Mendelsohn and Clement Thomas, junior Ian Wright and sophomores Dan Fox and Stephen Collins. PBIS Implementers’ Forum
Congratulations to the Elkins Park School core leadership team for being recognized at the 2019 Pennsylvania Positive Behavioral Support (PAPBS) Implementers’ Forum May 14 and 15 for their efforts in establishing a Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) student leadership team. The PBIS team showcased its student PBIS engagement efforts, which include student opportunities to be active in PBIS initiatives and learn from district and community leaders about leadership. The students have learned about school governance and the skills, disposition and character needed to be a school leader. Read more>

Graduation is Thursday, June 6 at 6:45 at La Salle University.
Final student day is Thursday, June 13, and schools will dismiss at the following times:
Cheltenham High School: 9:45 a.m.
Cedarbrook Middle School: 10:30 a.m.
Elkins Park School: 10:30 a.m.
K-4: 11:30 a.m.
Staff have professional development on Friday, June 14.
In service day on Monday, June 17 is the final teacher day.
Monday, August 26 is the first day of the 2019-2020 school year.

Portraits for Rising Seniors
Yes, it’s that time already. Members of the Class of 2020 begin sitting for their yearbook portraits May 28-31. A notification card with student appointments will be mailed home approximately two weeks prior to the photo session. Click for information. Call 800-687-9327 with questions.

All CSD-issued Chromebooks need to be returned before seniors receive their cap and gown to participate in graduation. Please read these instructions for the collection of your CSD issued Chromebook and charger.
