Kia ora,
Everyone is super excited and looking forward to our Pet Day tomorrow. The students have been working extremely hard on their Pet Day creations and home projects. Families are buzzing about bringing an animal along to show off, and I know the auction is going to be another big hit this year with all of the fantastic items we have lined up. Please note that event organisation has been sent home with your child and is also available on Seesaw and Facebook. A huge amount of work has gone into the day; from the great organisers behind the scenes, the large amount of sponsors that have come on board, and the various people who have given their time to make tomorrow such a success. Please remember that it is a school event so all of the organisers, stewards, judges, etc. are volunteers. Please be kind and most of all enjoy yourselves. As tomorrow is not a school day, please ensure that your children are supervised at all times.
Grandparents Day
We will be having a grandparents morning on Friday 6th November between 9:00 - 11:30 am. We warmly extend a big invite to our students’ grandparents, please see the schedule below:

10.45 - 11.30 am - Grandparents to visit classes
Kissick-Eraio
What a day we had out on Thursday! We entered four teams in the Kissick-Eraio tournament; year 5/6 touch, year 7/8 touch, year 5/6 netball, and year 7/8 netball. Our year 5/6 netball team won the cup, and both of the touch teams placed second! It was a fantastic day, our students' skill level, sportsmanship, and behaviour stood out. A massive thanks to our coaches; Jason Hurley, Megan Horgan, Amanda Sherman, and Nikaela Boshier. Your help and support is very much appreciated.
We’ll see you all tomorrow, thanks again for all of your support!

We have had a busy week getting ready for Pet Day in Room One. The kids are working hard to complete their soap carving and string art creations by Friday.
Well done to all the kids who competed in the Kissick-Eraio Tournament and represented the school at the Puanga festival. You did a fabulous job and made us so proud!

We did our writing assessment this week and we had to write about special times we have with our family.
First we had to think of our ideas and then have a go at writing them using finger spaces, words and sounds, and capital letters and full stops. We had to check that the writing made sense and draw a picture to match the story. It is a pretty big task for children who are pretty new to the writing process...but they did a great job without the usual teacher support!
Here is a sample of what we wrote:
“ I went to the park with Dad and Mum.” Harvey
“I take a picture of Rocky the lamb with my mum.” Nate
“In the weekend I went to Brock’s house with Dad. We went to Brock’s farm.” Keely
“I went to the pools with my dad. I did a manu.” Braxton
“I went to my Pops and Grandmas with Mum and Dad and I played with my cousins.” Jackson
“ Dad and Mel took me to the beach. I had a swim. It was cold. I had jamies to put on after” HarperSchool Photos
