Message from the Principal

GLOW Students & Families,

We hope you had a great weekend!

This is a busy time of year, and that is certainly true at GLOW as we prepare to close out the final weeks of first semester and prepare for high school exam week, beginning on Friday, December 9.

The exam schedule, as well as information on other special events can be found in the newsletter below! We hope you can join us for the GLOW Art Show and Concert on Thursday promises to be a fun night to kick off the holiday season!

Finally, thank you to our families who have donated pajamas to our 9th grade AVID program's Pajama Drive! As of Friday, we had collected 91 pairs of pajamas...only 9 away from our goal! We are so close and will be accepting donations through Wednesday of this week. If we reach our goal, students will earn a Pajama Day on Thursday of this week! Thank you for helping our students and our school give back to our community!

Wishing you all a great week,

Kate B. Tayloe

High School Exam Schedule

High School students will receive their Individual Exam Schedules on Monday in Leadership Advisory; however, we wanted to include additional information here that may be helpful for parents.

  • All high school courses include a final exam.
  • Some high school exams are a state mandated EOC, some are teacher made final exams, and in some instances students are completing projects this week that will count as their exam grade.
  • Students are required to attend school for all exam periods; however, if exams/projects have been given previously and there is no exam scheduled for your student on a specific day, then her attendance is not required.
  • Your student's individual Exam Schedule will indicate whether or not they have exams scheduled on each exam day (December 9-16).
  • Students who miss one of their scheduled exams on December 9-14 should attend school on December 14 and/or 15th to make-up these exams.

  • Friday, December 9 - English II EOC (state mandated)
  • Monday, December 12 - 1st & 3rd Period Exams
  • Tuesday, December 13 - Biology EOC (state mandated)
  • Wednesday, December 14 - 2nd & 4th Period Exams
