Rise Up!

Greetings Kingsford Family!

Welcome to a new week of learning. This month brings so much joy and excitement for us all. This week we will celebrate students, prekindergarten-fifth grade with various awards. We are making every effort to send out invitations to students who will receive an award so that parents can join us. We know that all of our students are capable of achieving at high levels. Students who are not receiving an award for their first quarter performance should put forth a little more effort on assignments, assessments, and overall class participation to improve their academic performance. Also encourage students to ask questions when necessary.

We are excited about parents joining us as we open our doors for our in-person First Quarter Awards Ceremonies this week. All ceremonies will begin promptly at 8:30 am. We are placing a 2 guests limit per student to ensure families are able to celebrate their student's success safely. If planning to attend, please enter the building through the front door and stop by the main office prior to joining us in the cafeteria. We are unable to share a live-streaming virtual option with our families at this time, however, we will attempt to record the ceremonies and share the recordings with our school community.

Please note, parking can be a challenge when we have school events. Additional parking is available in the rear of the building near the tennis courts.

As always, we are here to support you. Let us know how we can help. Email is the best way to reach us- Principal Jones renee.jones@pgcps.org Assistant Principal Price jocelyn.price@pgcps.org

Wishing all a phenomenal week. Be safe, be well!

Learning in Action at Kingsford ES

Guilty or Not Guilty?

You may think you know the story of The Three Little Pigs, but do you? Mr. Belkengren's third grade class read The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka. Third-grade student, Amber Taylor writes about her experience.

Today we went to court. We had to decide if the wolf was guilty or innocent. The jury had to listen to the evidence and then vote. We presented our arguments and we tried to persuade the jury so we could get votes. Guilty won the votes. It was fun. We did all of this to put the big bad wolf on trial.
