Wasco Weekly
THE STRENGTH OF THE WOLF IS ITS PACK

Thank You PTO!! What a great week!

May 5, 2023
Wasco Families,
So much good to share!
Thank you parents for working with our PTO to honor the hard work and dedication of our staff! It was so sweet to see the bunches of flowers arriving at school in the hands of students. Our school smelled AMAZING this week! Thank you also for the treats and special treatment!
A big thank you to the Campton Hills Police Department and our Fifth Grade Teachers for hosting the Too Good For Drugs Graduation. The ceremony featured essays written by our students and a commemorative video show written by Officer Hatt. The ceremony was a tribute to the special bond between the officers and students from beginning to end!
Kind Regards,
Stephanie Brannan
Principal

Message from the LRC

Our Unbe-LEAF-able MAPLEfest Field Day is Coming!!
Wasco’s Field Day is Tuesday, May 23rd. It will look a little different this year as we are working together as a Music, Art, P.E., LRC, and Empower team to provide a fun-filled day of activities. We need volunteers to run and assist with stations for our grade- level sessions. Your job will include working with other parent volunteers to lead the Field Day games and assist with Field Day activities. Please note that our volunteer opportunities are limited and are on a first come basis. The activities on Sign-Up Genius are listed by grade levels (Grades 3-5 from 8:10 a.m.-10:45 a.m., Grades K-2 from 12:40-2:50 p.m.).The start times above include sign-in at the office and a brief volunteer meeting prior to the start of the event. May 12th is the last day to sign up.
You may sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0d4eafaa2ea0fb6-wasco1#/
Since Field Day is a special day for Wasco students, please make childcare arrangements for younger siblings.
In case of rain or wet fields, the event will be canceled.
Should you have additional questions, please contact the Physical Education teachers, Mrs. Julie Misner at julie.misner@d303.org or Mr. Joe Secor at Joseph.secor@d303.org.
Wasco's ABC Challenge

Seesaw
Student work will not carry over year-to-year: Students, teachers, and families will no longer have access to historic Seesaw portfolios.
To download a record of student work before subscription expires (June 30) and dashboard is deactivated, here are instructions for students/families, admins, and teachers.
Music Program Recruiting
It is recruiting time for our music programs. All elementary schools have strong orchestra and band programs which provide small and large group lessons. The Music Department provides your child with expanded exposure to the arts and the process of learning an instrument teaches many life skills. I will also add that the music directors are fantastic at their jobs. Music lessons and band practices are engaging and filled with fun activities. If your child is considering this opportunity, please encourage them to try!

Check out our D303 Elementary Orchestra Website for an overview of our orchestra program, and enrollment information.
Join us for a Parent Informational Meeting on Zoom!
Choose the meeting that works best for you.
Meet the D303 orchestra staff, and the D303 preferred rental vendors, and ask any additional questions you may have.
