The 4 Day Crush Is On
Summertime is not always easy to maintain good fitness, or better said good nutrition. BBQ's, family gathering and beers can sabotage our health goals. Now that we have crushed the 4th weekend, let's crush total fitness for 4 days. Here's the plan:
· Monday, July 7th - Thursday July 10th
· 60 minutes of exercise per day (love the Play 60 concept for kids- now it's our turn)
· No alcohol and no empty carbs (bad sugars)
· Only lean proteins, fruits and veggies
· Half of your body weight in ounces of water per day
Come on, let’s crush it! It’s only 4 days. You can make it! This will be a great way to detox after the 4th and give your physique a boost it may need. Studies suggest a short term crush can give you that kick-start you need for your immediate fitness goals, as well as set in motion healthy habits for the long haul. Every time you initiate effort, parts of it will become who you are and what you do.
If you are in, reply back “I’m in. Let’s crush it!” It will interesting to see how your body, mind strength and chemistry changes in 4 days...
Run Team Update from Adam
"I ran my 9th Peachtree Road Race this Friday and it turned out to be another great event. Last year’s turn out was slim due to runner’s reservations in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing and the inclimate weather that had rolled in the night before, but this year’s race was busy and conditions were perfect. I rode Marta and aside from being packed in like cattle, it was a quick ride to the Buckhead station and a short jog to the start. I ran with a few fellow associates in my trusty Jackson Run Team shirt and had another great experience. If you have never run the Peachtree, I highly recommend it as it is one of the most fun 10k’s I have had the chance to participate in! No other race has the same level of spectator participation. Every radio-station has booths playing music on the side of the road, local restaurants are handing out food and drinks to runners (during the race, mind you) and there are always spectators on the side with signs, cheering you on and giving out “high fives.” It’s a fantastic experience. I finished in my goal time of under an hour (52:29 minutes or 8:27 per mile) and finished in the top 6,500, pretty good for a race of 60,000 participants. I hope to see some of you guys out next year!”
Tuesday's Tri Swim Practice
Go Jump in the Lake! Then Let's Play Sand Volleyball!
Join Len at Sunset Cove, Lake Lanier Islands, on Tuesday's at 7pm, beginning tomorrow night- the 8th- if you would like to practice swimming. Don't worry, we are not going to try and swim 400 yards, this will be a time to practice different strokes and begin to gain a comfort level with the open water. We will be meeting in front of the two sand vollebyall courts that are located to the right of the Sunset Cove restaurant.
Email Len or the Coliseum for additional questions!
