EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION
Hello Siegrist Families!!!
This week the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce celebrated their 36th Annual Excellence in Education Banquet April 29. This banquet honors outstanding students, teachers, staff, volunteers, and business supporters of Northland education, and brings together 1,000+ attendees from eleven school districts in Kansas City’s Northland to acknowledge the important role that schools play in the economic development and quality of life in our area. During this event several members of our school community received special recognition selected for Excellence by the Northland Chamber. Please help us in congratulating the following Siegrist Elementary special award winners:

5th Grade Students - Clap Out Shirts - Order due May 9
Dear 5th Grade Parents,
It’s hard to believe the 2021-2022 school is coming to an end and our 5th Grade Leaders will be heading off to PCMS soon! To help celebrate their achievements, the PTA has teamed up with 4 Hour Tees to design a fun shirt for all of the 5th grade students to wear on their last full day of school at Siegrist as they go through the halls and do the 5th Grade Clap Out. We have left the back of the shirt blank for all of those signatures from students, teachers and staff. We would love for every student to wear this on the 26th but understand that this may not be the perfect time to purchase one more thing and that’s ok. There is a place on the order form for those that would like to sponsor another child (ren) and the PTA will cover the rest. FYI…If you choose to sponsor a child, the order form will not let you select a size. We’ll take care of that after all orders are received on May 9th. Shirts will be delivered to school by Monday, May 23rd.

May: Military Appreciation Month!
Nation-wide May is considered military appreciation month. In honor of all our Siegrist service members we would like to encourage military families to record their family introducing themselves, sharing what branch of the service they are in, and saying the Pledge of Allegiance. If you have a member of the family serving overseas they could record it too. We will incorporate these recordings into the daily morning announcements throughout the month of May. Recordings can be emailed to Tina Kaiser at kaisert@platteco.k12.mo.us. If you don't have the capability, you can call the front office and set up a time for Mrs. Kaiser to record you saying the pledge as a family. We hope to have lots of submissions and have our military families leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Please call Tina Kaiser or Lori Mann with any questions; 816-858-5977.
