The rise of the humans By: Fernando Matus (Matthew)
Early Hominini
A lot of kinds of humans came before us. The group they we come from is called hominin. The first that came Australopithecus it had human and ape like traits they had small brains and skulls were flatten. They lived in a savanna in the trees. They had small canine teeth and large upper limbs and the specail austrlopithecus was named Lucy , Lucy was the first of there kind to get on the trees and walk. After there was the Homo habilis. The homo habilis was called that way because habilis means tool maker. The homo habilis made tools to hunt and survive they were bipedal. They made tools with rocks by flaking other rocks to make sharper weapons. When they ate meat they got smarter. They got smarter because meat has carbohydrates, carborhydrates help their brains. Thay didn't really care about decorating their cave they cared about their survival. Then there was the homo eructus the homo eructus standed up straight and ran for long distances. They stayed together till the ice age climate came. Then they started to lose food and water because there was too much people to feed. So they migrated some moved to Asia. Finally, it is us the homo sapiens us homo sapien have bigger brains and we were made to make technology. We are the smartest of all the generations. Now we have culture and civilizations.
Archaeologist as detectives
Archaelogist are now like the scientist but before they weren't. Before they were wreckless and they didn't care about the specailty of a artifact or a fossil. They would only care about the money they are gonna get and curiosity. They would dig it up and pull it out. Now in days they carefully go to a dig site on use specail tools to dig them up. They would get the whole thing and see who made it and who it is.
Tools of the Craft
The tools that archaeologist use now are small and not harmful. They would be careful because if they break one little peice and the whole discovery is ruined. So to dig they would use a small shaped like shovel called a trowel. They used smaller kind of tools so it would not hurt they artifact are the fossil. Trowels take small pieces of sand so if they artifact is small then it wouldn't go with the shovel. If they use picks or shovels then they will get in trouble. One little peice of pottery is worth a fortune if it was from two million years ago. If they have the whole thing they could study it and see who made it. They would find the little piece of an artifact and put it in a plastic bag .
