MAP Growth Song Lyrics by Mrs. Lowry
Let Your Growth Show
The Winter MAP test is close in sight
A few more days then it’s on the scene
A time to show just what you know, if you know just what I mean
All your knowledge is stored way down deep inside
Couldn’t keep all of that in; even if you tried
Don’t hold back now, all that you know, let them see the smarty pants you can be
Reveal, don’t chill, it’s time they know…..all that you know
Let it go,let it show…don’t hold it back anymore
Let it go,all that you know…you have knowledge galore
We know what your scores are going to say, Let the test rage on
MAP never bothered you anyway
It’s funny how one question, can make you feel so strong
And the questions that once scared you, can’t get to you at all
It’s time to see what you can do, to test the limits and break through
Some will be right, some may be wrong, it’s okay, you’ll see….
Let it go, let it show, All we ask is that you try
Let it go,all that you know, no need to ever cry
You’ll do grand, and grand you’ll be, let the test rage on
Powerful knowledge scurries through your head
And all around, your brain is spiraling with skills
and facts all around, and one thought crystalizes unlike all of the rest
There’s nothing that you lack, you’ve so got this crazy test
Let it go, let it show, And your RIT score will soar
Let it go, all that you know, on one test or more
Here you are, ready for that day
Let the test rage on
MAP never bothered you anyway

Occasionally, there are situations that occur outside of school which can impact a child’s day, so I want to make sure I support your child as best I can. Attendance: Texas Education Code
Dear Parent / Legal Guardian:
Our district’s goal is that all students will be successful. One of the most important factors that contribute to a student’s academic success is their attendance in class on a daily basis. As a partner in your child’s success, Burleson Independent School District wants to encourage you to make school attendance a top priority for your child.
Texas Education Code states that it is the parents’ duty to monitor and require their child to
attend school (TEC 25.093). The Code further states that if a student is absent 10 or more days or parts of days within a six-month period in the same year or on three or more days or parts of days within a four-week period may be considered excessive. The following is an example of what is
subject to happen if your child has excessive absences:
(1) The student’s parent is subject to prosecution under Section 25.093, Texas Education
Code; and
(2) The student is subject to referral to a truancy court for truant conduct under Section
65.003(a), Family Code.
Please make every effort to see that your child is in school and that you have notified us of
his/her absence (i.e., calling the school on the day of the absence with the reason for the absence), or that your student has returned with the appropriate excuse documentation (i.e., note from a doctor, dentist, therapist, or court representative including student’s name, date of absence(s) and professional’s signature, or funeral documentation). According to Burleson ISD School Board Policy FEC (Local), if your child is absent for 3 or more consecutive days, a doctor’s note will be required.
Burleson Independent School District appreciates the opportunity to work in partnership with
parents in our goal to ensure student success in all their endeavors. Please contact us if you have any questions concerning attendance issues.
