Graduation Ceremony May 31, 2023
You are receiving this information, as you are signed up to participate in the Class of 2023 graduation ceremony for either 3:30PM or 6:30PM. Please read this newsletter carefully for important information and expectations.
Graduation Ceremony 3:30PM and 6:30PM
Graduate Check-in:
2:30PM pm in the Large Gym for 3:30PM ceremony. 5:30PM in the Large Gym for 6:30PM ceremony.
Please bring your student ID for check in. Students will be searched upon entering gym.
Graduating students are prohibited from bringing in bags, purses, inflatable items, and other items prohibited on school grounds.
Graduates may not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Graduates who refuse to comply with the rules and expectations of the ceremony will
be asked to leave and will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.

Q: What is the required dress for graduation?
A: All graduates are required to wear the QHHS color cap, gown, and tassel. All graduates wear royal blue, unless they are CSF Gold graduates. No other colors are allowed. Clothing worn under the cap and gown must meet school dress code requirements. Administration reserves the right to make final determinations on all graduation apparel.
Q: Can my student wear a flower lei or decorate his/her cap?
A: Flower leis are allowed. Cap decoration is allowed, as long as they are not 3-D and must be school appropriate. Cap décor deemed inappropriate will be prohibited and confiscated until June 3. Please review Graduation Cap Decorating Guidelines
Q: Are graduates allowed to wear stoles, honor cords, or other decorative items (other than flower leis)?
A: Per AVUHSD Board Policy, stoles may only be worn when part of board-approved program. Anyone wishing to wear honor cords or stoles that are not part of a board-approved program must seek approval from the Activities Office no later than May 26. Seeking approval does not guarantee that approval will be granted.
Per California AB 1248 Students may also wear objects of religious or cultural significance as an adornment at school graduation ceremonies, as long as these items do not cause a disruption to the event. Administration reserves the right to determine appropriateness.
Footwear- It is recommend that everyone wear comfortable shoes that can easily walk across a bumpy field. While not prohibited, high heels and shoes with a platform can lead to ankle injuries and are not recommended.

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,
We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2023’s graduation on May 31, 2023 at both 3:30 pm and again at 6:30pm.
In preparation for the festivities, we want to inform you of the safety measures implemented at the ceremony. These measures include increased law enforcement and security presence and bag checks for all in attendance. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to avoid bringing unnecessary bags. Small personal items in a clear stadium-type bag are strongly suggested. Those with larger bags must enter through a designated check line. Please look and use the designated bag check line at the entrance to the stadium.
Gates will open at 2:30pm for the 3:30PM ceremony. Gates will open at 5:30PM for 6:30 PM ceremony.
Guests will check in at the stadium entrance. Home and Visitor gates.
Each graduate will be allowed 6 guests tickets plus any additional tickets they may have purchased. (infants, toddlers, and young children count as a guest).
Handicap seating is available on the track on both home and visitor sides of the stadium. One additional guest/attendant allowed with handicap guest.
We strongly encourage you to avoid bringing unnecessary bags. Small personal items in a clear stadium-type bag are strongly suggested. Those with larger bags must enter through a designated check line. Please look and use the designated bag check line at the entrance to the stadium.
Please do not bring coolers, outside food or drink (except unopened water bottles), umbrellas, EZ Ups, or any other prohibited items.
Please be patient with our staff; they will work quickly to get everyone in and seated before the commencement begins. Graduations are well attended, so please plan to arrive early.

9:00 am to 12:00 pm. June 5, 6, 7, & 9th (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday) in the Administration Building Records Office (Need current photo I.D. )
PLEASE BE ADVISED!!! ALL AREAS OF THE QHHS CAMPUS WILL BE CLOSED ON JUNE 8, 2023. GRADUATES WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COME ON CAMPUS TO PICK UP DILOMAS.
