School Board meetings are held on the second Monday of the month at the Haines Center until further notice. All meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and the public is invited to attend. Agenda packets are available at district.d303.org.

Superintendent’s Report
North High School Homecoming
This week is Homecoming week at North High School!
The Homecoming parade is on Friday, October 15 at 1:00 p.m. Those who would like to attend are welcome to park near the administration building and Haines then walk downtown for the festivities.
Upcoming agenda items for October Committee Meetings
- Enrollment and board goals will be discussed at the Learning and Teaching meeting on Monday, October 18.
- The Facility Master Plan presentation will be made at the Business Services meeting on Monday, October 25.
October is National Cyber Security Month
Students use technology during school and after hours and we know that parents are interested in learning about ways in which to keep their children safe while using technology.
Senator Don DeWitte is hosting a virtual Cyber Security event on Thursday, October 14. A flyer with more information is located in the District 303 Community Backpack.
Consent Agenda
For Action
- The Board approved the purchase of decodable books for K-2 classrooms.
- These additional materials will support the application of phonics skills as part of the recently adopted 95 Phonics Core Program.
- A committee of reading specialists, classroom teachers, and Learning and Teaching staff have chosen the appropriate books for purchase.
District 303 E-Learning Plan passed by a vote of 4-3.
- The District 303 E-Learning Plan will permit students’ instruction to be received electronically while students are not physically present in lieu of the district’s scheduled emergency days.
- The plan was presented to the Board at a Policy Committee Meeting on August 30, 2021.
Board Member Pre-Conference Workshop Registrations passed by a vote of 7-0.
- The Board approved of the registration costs for Mrs. Barker and Mrs. Bell to attend pre-conference workshops for the Triple I School Board Conference.
- The conference will take place on November 19-21 in Chicago.
