ICT Bulletin #31
Monday 7th July 2014
This week
Years 3-5 World Cup book - update
I'm not sure that I have received all of the pages yet. It is unlikely that there is sufficient time to publish the book via the Apple Bookstore before the end of term. At the very least I will make a PDF version of the book available and post it to Gateway. Parents and children will then be able to download it from there.
IS Support - next two weeks
Patrick will be only be based at JSD in the morning for the duration of the term. Should any issues arise in the afternoon then you can log it, wait until the following morning or call 4155.
ICT housekeeping - email later in the week
Please look out for an email regarding ICT housekeeping later in the week. This will detail what needs to be done before the end of the term, e.g. backing up photos and returning items etc.
Friday 4th July - update
On Friday the LTMs met up to review and update the Computing Framework for next year. We looked at skills coverage across the junior schools to see if there was enough consistency. There are a few changes to be made but the exercise was encouraging.
We also looked at the E-Safety policy again with David Hellier. During the September INSET week we hope to provide staff with clear information about acceptable use of technologies in school.
Staff manual - 'Diamond Docs' COMING SOON
I'm still off timetable this week. Diamond Docs, our new guide for staff at Diamanthorst, is nearly complete! Hopefully the ESLT can share this with all staff fairly soon.
iPad trolley - please keep in mind
There is still a chance that the iPads in the trolley will be out of action later this week or early next week. This will be for the remainder of the term. Just be aware.
Last ICT Bulletin
This is the last ICT Bulletin for the 2013-2014 academic year! Thanks for taking the time to read this bulletin (mostly) every week! The bulletin will be back next session but as the Computing Bulletin (catchy title eh!)
Have a great week!
