Production
Emma Walker and the initial team have finalised the script, songs and costumes needed. This has been a collaborative effort and we are all truly grateful.
The staff ran through the script last night at our Staff Hui and the feedback has been awesome.
We are ready to call for auditions for the various parts. We will start the audition process Monday 30 July. Students from Year 3 - 8 wishing to audition for a main part, will be called for sometime Monday by Emma. There will be 46 parts available as we have 26 main characters which we will double as the students will do 2 shows each.
Also on Monday 30 July - but in the evening, we are holding a full interested parent meeting, 7pm in the staffroom for those that can attend. We would like all people who have indicated their support to attend so we can allocate roles and areas of support, particularly with costumes, props and scene staging. We will have scripts available and we may run through this with the group as well, just so you all get the idea. With this in mind the meeting may be around an hour and a half.
We are aiming to have the show length around 70 mins, but we have booked 90 min time slot to be safe.
We have booked the performance dates and times as follows:
Friday 21 September Dress Rehearsal ( we will invite Marinoto Rest Home) 1100 - 1230
Mon 24 Sept - Final Dress Rehearsal (Early Childhoods invited) 1300 - 1430
Tuesday 25 Sept Matinee Show 1100 - 1230
Tuesday 25 Sept Evening Show 1800 -1930
Wednesday 26 Sept Final Performance 1800 -1930

The Onceler has been ....Clearing, Transplanting and Re-Planting
Over the non-contact time (or holidays for kids) you may have noticed there has been action at the back boundary of our property. Currently the work along the fence line has involved the removal of our treeline. Please be assured we have saved many of the trees and shrubs which will be replanted along what will be a newly formed 'learners mountain bike track'. We have also been offered a number of fruit trees, which we will also plant along this boundary line. We have a large number of NZ Native trees and shrubs which will be placed among the older trees (which will be transplanted) the new fruit trees, boulders, bridges and various other cool Mountain Bike track features.
The project has enabled us to remove years and years of waste and rubbish that has built up, a large number of old diseased trees and stumps and roots as well.
We are confident that the area will be, once again amazing and environmentally free.
If you would like to donate plant vouchers to assist with the project, we would welcome these. We have three large piles of chip, which we will need to spread along the track at some stage, so watch out for notices of working bees coming up.
