Hoover Elementary School News
January 2023
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a wonderful winter break and found time to relax with family and friends. We are almost halfway through the school year as we are nearing the end of the second marking period! It's been a great start so far and we have lots of exciting things happening this month.
We have collected over 31,000 PBIS tickets so far this year! To kick off the second half of the school year, students will be participating in a schoolwide assembly this month to review schoolwide expectations and celebrate our success so far this year.
Now that the colder weather has officially settled in, it's important to know that still take the students outside during recess throughout the winter months. If the temperature falls below 25 degrees or there is inclement weather, we will then have indoor recess. It's important that your child is dressed appropriately for the colder weather.
Lastly, with the colder weather here we also need to be prepared for possible winter weather and school closings/delays. Please review the following letter regarding snow days and Flexible Instructional Days. Since we have already used our first "official" snow day, the remaining weather closings will be considered FID days.
Flexible Instructional Days Letter
Thank you,
Mrs. Czarnecki

What’s Happening in Guidance:
During Guidance lessons this month, we will be focusing on positive friendship skills and conflict resolution. Students will practice prosocial skills such as sharing, taking turns, and compromising, as well as brainstorming multiple solutions to common conflicts they may face with classmates, friends, or family members.
