International Dot Day - September 15
This Friday, September 15, is International Dot Day--a global celebration of creativity, courage, and collaboration. This special event is inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ book, The Dot. The Dot is the story of a teacher who inspires a reluctant student to make her mark.
In the words of The Dot Club, "What started as a story in the pages of a book is transforming teaching and learning around the world as people of all ages re-discover the power and potential of creativity in all they do." If you're interested in participating in this global event, register here and visit the gallery of past projects for inspiration.
Celebrate International Dot Day on social media by using the hashtags, #DotDay and #MakeYourMark.
Classcraft
As our SEL Committee continues their work in moving D64 forward in meeting social/emotional needs of all students, here is a pilot opportunity to use Classcraft to help meet these challenges. For students in grades 4-8, Classcraft is a classroom management environment that, with a bit of your own ingenuity, transforms your class into an immersive learning adventure, taking student motivation to the next level. Click here to sign up to be a pilot classroom by September 20th. If interested, you will attend a half-day training on either September 26th or 28th.
