This Week In Second Grade
Our Learning Journey...
We are all set for an exciting week in second grade. In language arts, students are reading their biographies, (at home), an uplifting story called New Hope, and continuing to make status of the class goals in their individual chapter books. We'll be studying different types of sentences in grammar: declarative, exclamatory, interrogative, and imperative. In math, students will review concepts of money and begin to explore decimals. Money is a great way to begin talking about the more abstract concept of place value. This is always a popular time in science as we learn about and demonstrate the scientific method. On Monday, we'll learn about why and how we conduct research. This presentation, by Jennifer Hogenboom, helps them to see purpose behind and steps to conducting the Who Am I? project.
