Parking Permits
Hey everyone! If you are driving to school, you need to have a parking permit. Please see the information below in regards to parking permits. SRO Nagel and Mr. Oberdorf will be checking for parking permits starting next week. Please let Mr. Oberdorf know if you have any questions or concerns.
The Board of Education of Caroline County recognizes that there are some students in high schools who may need to drive or ride in an automobile to school on a full- time or part- time basis. Therefore, in spite of that fact, and in the interest of conservation and safety, the Board strongly discourages students from driving to school. It will be possible only if the parent/ guardian, student, and principal agree to the steps outlined herein:
1. All students must attend a mandatory student driver meeting, to be held at the beginning of the school year.
2. Upon submission of a completed application packet, the principal or his/ her designee will assign parking spots using the following criteria: seniors with school related activities, juniors with school related activities, seniors, juniors, others if space permits.
3. Only students with a valid driver’s license are permitted to apply.
4. Along with the completed driver application form, the student must attach a copy of their license, insurance information, vehicle registration and the parking fee of thirty dollars ($30).
5. Mirror tags will be presented to the student driver within ten days of the beginning of the school year. The tag is to be placed on the rear view mirror of the vehicle at all times when on school property.
6. Immediately report any change of driving information to the principal or his/ her designee (in writing).
7. Dismissal from the school parking lot shall be accomplished in strict accordance with the school’s operating procedure.
