The Falcon's Nest-MEA Weekend
#TogetherWeFly Update for Armstrong High School 10/15
Armstrong Community,
As always, I hope this message finds you and your family well. As we all prepare for a well deserved break, we have included in the newsletter some reminders on expectations about COVID protocols and student expectations. Safety of staff is our number one priority during this time and we ask that you review these.
We are starting a campaign on “leave your camera on!!” You should expect more information and messages coming from our student leaders. We understand sometimes it is appropriate but whenever possible we would love it if our students would leave the camera on as we feel it is an important part of student engagement, participation ,and learning.
We would like to congratulate Armstrong Orchestra Teacher Kevin Martin on being named Master Teacher by the MInnesota String & Orchestra Teachers Association (MSOTA). This is a prestigious award and a well deserved honor for a dedicated, caring, and outstanding teacher. Congratulations Mr. Martin!!
Together We Fly!
Stay Safe and GO FALCONS!
Mr. Norby
COVID-19 Reminders and Updates:
All families must use the self-screening tool before sending their students to school or school activities each day.
The threshold for sending students home due to illness this school year is lower than usual. Make a plan with family or friends regarding how your student will get home from school if they develop symptoms of illness during the school day. Students without vehicles at school will need to be picked up promptly and will remain in an illness isolation room until picked up.
Please check your contact information in Infinite Campus and make sure it is up to date. For any changes, contact 763-504-8808.
If a student or staff is identified by the Minnesota Department of Health as a close contact of someone with lab-confirmed COVID-19 while at an AHS activity, they will receive notification from the school and explanation of next steps.
If a student or staff is NOT identified as a close contact, but is in an AHS activity group or a classroom with someone who has lab-confirmed COVID-19, they will receive general notification that there was a case of COVID-19 reported in their activity group or classroom.

AP Exam registration deadline November 11th
This year the AP Exam registration deadline for all full year AP classes is November 11th, 2020. Yes, that is really early for AP Exams that will take place in May 2021! Students who register and pay for their AP exam fees before the November 11th deadline will pay $60 for each exam. After the November 11th deadline, all exams will cost students $90 per exam. This is due to a late registration fee, which was instituted by the College Board last year. Learn more about registration.
