Dealey Dragon Weekly Update
Week of October 9th
Principal News and Notes
I hope everyone had a great weekend.
I realize for many of you, parent conferences will be held throughout the week and not just on Thursday evening in order to meet with all of your parents. Thanks for taking time out during planning periods and after school to touch base with your parents about their child's progress in your class.
Fair Day is this Friday. Student tickets will go home with Thursday folders this week. Hopefully some of you were able to enjoy the fair this weekend since we were able to get our tickets a little early.
I heard from Ms. Simmons on Friday and she was so excited to announce that she will be returning on Wednesday, October 18th. I know you are all anxious to have her back. It sure was nice to have Ms. Barta return this past week as well.
Have a great short week!

Dragon Safety News:
Fire Drill Feedback--- Last week’s drill was our second one of the year. We obstructed two PK/K classrooms. Ms. Austin, Ms. Durkin, and their students were quick on their feet. They found an alternative route and exited safely. Based on our observation, everyone else exited quietly and safely in a timely manner. Great job everyone!
Carpool AM:
We need your help! Some of our new and returning parents may not know to pull forward and are dropping off their children mid-way along the carpool lane. Royal Lane easily gets backed up. Parents are finding alternative “unsafe” routes to drop off their children. In addition, buses are having a difficult time getting through Edgemere. Please continue to remind all parents to pull their car all the way forward as they drop off their child. Carpool PM:
Assistance also needed to pick up cones after dismissal. Any staff member can assist. Go Dragons!!!
Buses:
Please note that bus 1105, 2072 (yellow), and 4196 (blue) have been dropping off our students between 8:21-8:28 a.m. Please excuse these students in the morning and ensure they eat breakfast. I will continue to do my best to communicate this concern with transportation. Thank you for your patience.
Discipline Committee:
I am recruiting a representative from PK/K, 4-6 and a Specials teacher to finalize the committee. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are interested. Thank you Mr. Chung and Ms. Chandler for representing MS and 1-3 teachers.
