This year's Varsity squad features mostly seniors with a lot of spunk. Samia Alam, Abbi Erbacher, Michelle Carazza, and Kylee Johnson provide backup on the court. Come out and support the team!

Varsity Girls Soccer
Away at Bridgeton - 9/13/19 / Record: 4-0-0
EHT kept the offense rolling with seven goals by seven different goal scorers during the CAL-American conference match at Bridgeton. Senior captain Lauren Ebner, junior Maddy Morgan, and senior Kara Semet each tallied a goal in this game, while senior Samantha Murphy, juniors Anne Rutledge and Kyleigh Oberman, as well as sophomore Alicia Page netted their first career varsity goals. Semet, Ebner, and senior Isabella Leak added assists as well as junior Kristen Semet. Senior Grace Baumgartel recorded the shutout.
Home vs Atlantic City - 9/16/19 / Record: 5-0-0
Seven seems to be their lucky number as EHT welcomed first year program, Atlantic City, to the CAL-American conference with a 7-0 win. Junior Niki Danz led the scoring with a hat trick while Senior Lauren Ebner tallied a hat trick of assists. Sophomore Alicia Page added two more goals to her goal total while senior Samantha Murphy netted a final goal late in the game. Seniors Samantha Vogt and Karina Poveromo played well in the win.
Home vs ACIT - 9/18/19 / Record: 6-0-0
EHT decisively beat ACIT 5-0 to go to 4-0-0 in the CAL-American conference and 6-0-0 on the season. This marks the fifth shutout in six games by the defensive line of Kristen Semet, Meghan Maul, Casey Biglan, and Hayley Duncan all of which are from the class of 2021. EHT’s quick passing and movement off the ball completely confounded ACIT as the Eagles netted two goals in the first half and three in the second. All three EHT forwards, senior Gabby Germann, junior Niki Danz, and sophomore Alicia Page, found the back of the net. The Semet sisters each added an assist, while freshman Maddie Eye stepped into the match during the second half and made an immediate impact by setting up the team’s third goal of the game. Here is a recap of the game from GloryDaysMagazine.
Varsity Boys Soccer
On Friday, September 13th, the Bulldogs of Bridgeton travelled the hallowed grounds of EHT to face our boys soccer team. In a performance fit for the Upside Down, the boys soccer team truly seemed to take one from the bizarro files. In the first half, nothing happened. Zip. Not one save made, not one recorded shot. Nada. Truly a scenario befit of Friday the 13th. The same team that did not want to cross paths with a black cat or walk under a ladder found their lucky rabbits foot during halftime and came ready to play… and play they did! Within minutes of the whistle blowing, the Eagles found the net with a slotted shot by nj.com’s CAL Player of the Week, Ahmad Brock, his first on his way to a hattrick. Manny Ruiz then followed suit, then EJ Martin added goals. First year varsity players, Nate Biersbach and Nhan Yen, added to the day’s voodoo with each scoring their first and second career varsity goals. EHT 9, Bridgeton 0.
On Monday, September 16th, the boys of the soccer team travelled to America’s Playground and just like the signs read on the way into town, they did AC. The Vikings proved to be a worthy opponent on Monday, but it was the Eagles that were setting the tempo of the game. NJ.com’s CAL Player of the Week wore his badge of honor well as he decided one hattrick wasn’t enough for the week. Nate Biersbach continued his scoring streak by adding two to the tally in Atlantic City, and Dominik “Cheedah” Warda followed right along with two of his own. But the story of the day goes to Brandon Berrio who dedicated his play to a special someone. When asked after the game about his performance, BB said, “I had to do it for BooBoo, it was her birthday and she looks up to me.” BB ended the day with a goal, two assists, and the heartwarming smile of a little fan. EHT 9, AC 1.
On Wednesday, September 18th, the boys of EHTHS soccer travelled ACIT to see what the Red Hawks had to offer. ACIT has come up in the Cape Atlantic League and were the first opponents the boys faced last year in the playoffs and it was known that the day would not be easy. Ahmad Brock CONTINUED to score and found the back of the net early in the first half. It was a beautiful goal, but it was not enough to stop the Red Hawks from trying to dig their talons into the Eagles. It was a back and forth game until a young Niko Rubio was fouled outside of the box in the second half, and our capain, our protector of the meek decided to take matters into his own hands. Cole Gordon calmly grabbed the ball from his teammates and with a gentle “shhhh” let his team know that ACIT was about to go night night. He placed the ball, stared at his target and looked to send the ball back to his home. As he ran up to the ball, an eagle soared across the sky, screeching at the same moment his foot made contact, supplying all the energy and power needed to send that ball home. People in the stands were awed by the moment and some claimed that the Eagle screeched “COLE” as it soared through the air...tt cannot be confirmed or denied. Nate Biersbach also added the fifth goal of the season. Both Tyler Weller and Jeff Castro added were in net for the 3-0 shutout.
Varsity Boys Soccer Record: 6-1
