As some of you who attended Parent-Teacher Conferences saw, we are conducting surveys to find out how we can better communicate with all different groups. If you haven't already, we ask that you take one of the following surveys to help the APSD Communications Office better serve our constituents.
Also included in this newsletter is an introduction to the "Standard Response Protocol" program that we are working to implement along with the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff's Office.

APSD IMPLEMENTING STANDARD RESPONSE PROTOCOL FOR EMERGENCY SITUATIONS
The SRP is a free program from the I Love You Guys Foundation that allows organizations to have common terminology, visual aids and instructions for all groups to employ in the event of an emergency situation at a campus.
APSD School Resource Officers and administrators have begun working with faculty, staff and students to educate them on the terminology and visual aids used in the program.
Be on the lookout for information regarding an informational meeting in April for parents to attend to learn more about APSD's use of the SRP. In the meantime, for more information on this program, visit the SRP K-12 Program website here.

SCHOOL LUNCH MENUS ON APP
For those parents who use the app to check school lunch menus, a change was made before Thanksgiving Break and menus are again available on each school's portion of the app. For some reason, the menus had just been populated to the APSD section of the app. From now on, you should be able to locate the school lunch menus on your respective school's page on the app. Normal procedure is for menus to be uploaded for the entire month at the beginning of the month.
APSD Utilizing AMI Days Again in 2018-19; PLEASE Update Contact Info. at Respective Campuses If You've Changed Numbers
AMI days allow school district to potentially not have to add extra days to the end of the school calendar in late May and early June.
APSD will use phone and text notifications as well as social media and traditional media to notify families of cancellations. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION ON FILE WITH YOUR CHILD OR CHILDREN'S RESPECTIVE CAMPUS IS UP TO DATE.
