Suicide Squad
GoGuardian has also provided some information as to how students are pushing the envelope on the appropriate use. I get emailed "flags" when there are questionable sites that our staff and students visit. One search that has come up quite frequently in the last two weeks is Suicide Squad, specifically the song "Heathen" by Twenty-One Pilots. Our philosophy at this point is to keep sites open for students and teach them the appropriate uses. I hope to not get to the point where we "blacklist" sites and only open a few that we deem appropriate. Students have access to the entire world of information outside of school and I feel it is part our responsibility to teach them how to access it appropriately. Please be reminded that with chromebooks, you need to actively monitor the students' activity throughout the class period. If students are able to listen to music, please reiterate the fact that what we do in school must be school appropriate. I will keep a log of visits and notify you of who and when questionable sites are visited so you can address the student and be aware of it for the future.
