From The Office
Arbor View Families,
The annual Halloween Parade and Parties are planned for October 29th. We will parade in costumes around the outside of the building starting around 2:00 that day. Kids are welcome to bring costumes to change into before the parade. Scary masks, face paint, and hair spray are not permitted on the day of the parade. Spectators are welcome. It is outside so there will not be a limit this year. It is appreciated if families stay together during the parade.
The parties will take place in classrooms after the parade. Two adult volunteers are allowed to help facilitate the parties.
If the weather is bad we will cancel the parade and just have the parties. We will communicate in a timely manner on the day of the parade.
Mrs. Wellendorf has included information about her project fundraiser for the art room.
Report cards may go home on either Thursday or Friday of this week.
The Fun Run was a tremendous success. Thank you for supporting PTO's fundraiser this year. It was a really nice addition to have so many of you braving the cold to come out and cheer on the kids. I'm thankful to be a part of this community.

From our School Nurse
Cough Drops at school - This is just a reminder that we do need to have a Doctor's note for kids to have cough drops in school. When this is the case we will have the child use the cough drop in the office. When done with it they will return to class.
Note from the Nurse…
With the beautiful onset of the fall season also comes the unwelcomeness of the cold and flu viruses, as well as seasonal allergies. In addition to the continued presence of the Coronavirus, it is very important that students continue practicing healthy habits like getting plenty of rest, eating healthy foods, drinking plenty of water (make sure they bring their water bottle each day), good handwashing/sanitizing techniques, social distancing, and wearing a clean face mask (especially if unvaccinated). Also, I would encourage you to have your family get their seasonal influenza vaccines. Please reach out to your health care provider with questions about the Covid-19 vaccine. We will continue to use the screening tool from the Douglas County Health Department for symptomatic students:
Exclusion and Readmittance of Ill Students and Staff in Schools
Health Screens
The State of Nebraska requires that all K-4th, 7th, and 10th-grade students, as well as students new to the district, be screened for height, weight, vision, hearing, and dental health. Parent volunteers will be able to help again this year! The screening at Arbor View will be on Wednesday, October 20th from 8:15-11:00 a.m. Here is the Sign-up Genius from PTO:
Volunteers will be required to wear masks due to the up-close nature of these duties and younger siblings are not allowed to come in.
Health Screenings - Volunteer Sign Up
Also, please make sure that your student brushes their teeth that morning and that they wear their glasses or contacts that day if they have them.
Thank You!
Morgan Haecke, BSN, RN, NCSN

Parents will screen their children at home for fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.
Consult a medical professional if symptomatic as necessary.
Students do not report to school if symptomatic
