Be That Teacher!
I have been very excited to see all the great things going on in classrooms and seeing the students so excited about being back in school. As we begin a new school year, I hope you will demonstrate the characteristics in the video (click on the link above). I hope you will remember your purpose and passion and why we do what we do each day. I challenge you to be that teacher who will...
- Help
- Motivate
- Explain
- Model
- Coach
- Encourage
- Communicate
- Develop
- Guide
- Stimulate
- Share
- Inspire
A teacher who is:
- Adventurous
- Humorous
- Creative
- Different
- Courageous
- Enthusiastic
- Dynamic
- Proud
- Empathetic
- A leader
Imagine what a classroom would look like if the teacher demonstrated these characteristics. Better yet, imagine what a school would look like if EVERY teacher demonstrated these! Our students deserve teachers who bring the best they have each day and strive to be the best teacher possible.
As we begin the 2019-20 school year, I challenge all of you to BE THAT TEACHER!
Why are we here?
We must always remember that if we put the student first in every decision we make and in everything we do each day, we will see great things happen. If students are at the center of our planning and goal setting, then we will inspire them to achieve. I believe that the students at TES deserve the best. They deserve to experience the best education possible, provided by the best teachers and I am confident all of you are the "BEST"!

Hands-on Learning Activities
Learning can be noisy and messy. It can involve talking, moving, and debating. Authentic learning is more than memorization, but an application of of the learning. It requires students to think deeper and apply their understanding to solve a problem.
I encourage all teachers to look for learning activities that provide students with the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities. Challenge students through allowing them to work together and think critically. Engage students in learning activities that are fun, engaging, and exciting.
