Community Supported Agriculture
A New Idea in Farming
A little about what we are
CSA consists of a community of individuals who pledge support to farm operation so that the farmland becomes, either legally or spiritually, the community's farm, with the growers and consumers providing mutual support and sharing risks and benefits of food production.
Why CSA?
As agriculture in our beautiful country becomes dominated by multinational corporations, small-scale diversified farms with their commitment to place and community, dwindle each year. That's where we come in.
The CSA model is simple; members sign up for a share of the harvest, and pay at least a portion in advance of the season, which provides the farm timely working capital. This membership relationship provides farmers a secure market for their produce and minimizes the marketing risks that are normally involved in farming,
The benefits for members are plentiful. Besides receiving a seasons supply of fresh organic produce, members have the satisfaction of knowing where and how their food is grown, of having a tangible connection to the land through their farm, and of contributing to the health of their local community.
