CELEBRATIONS!

Rake Up Boise!

On November 12th, Frank Church’s National Honor Society and FCCLA took part in Rake Up Boise! Thousands of volunteers rake yards for veteran, disabled, and senior neighbors. This is a beloved fall tradition for many community members and one of the largest volunteer events in the Northwest.

Frank Church had fifteen people rake up 163 bags of leaves.

Sticker Shock in the Community School

AVID 11/12th graders continued the tradition of supporting Idaho Youth by sticking 14,000 stickers on 14,000 bags to remind adults to avoid giving alcohol to minors. AVID 11/12, The Idaho Liquor Division, and members of the Frank Church community all worked together to get the bags with the stickers to local liquor stores to get this strong and important message out into our community.

Critical Thinking Foundations Class Field Trip

Our new Critical Thinking “Foundations” classes joined together on a field trip to the Downtown Boise Public Library. Students applied for and received library cards, and for some students, it was their very first library card. Students learned about the new full-time social worker and Mental Health Coordinator, Ashley Hammond. Ashely came to speak with the students along with the Teen Services Librarian, Jennifer Wills. Students were also able to learn about the many resources the public library has to offer.

AVID Field Trip

The AVID 9/10 and the AVID 11/12 class joined forces at a battle of the best at Nerfed Boise! On November 16th, students practiced their transportation and social skills as well as their nerf-dart competitive skills at a local business where our own Frank Church graduate, Andrew, has been a part of establishing the business and has often spoken to students about his entrepreneur journey. While Andrew couldn’t make the event, he will be joining the class as a guest speaker in the near future.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
