Important Information for the 23-24 School Year
Dear Coatesville Area Senior High School Families,
Welcome to the 2023-2023 School Year! I wanted to again communicate a few reminders from the letter sent earlier this month with resources for the first school day tomorrow and throughout the school year. In order to have a great first day – please be sure to read the information below.
The information contained in this email will be posted on our school website under “Opening of School Announcements” for your reference.
We wish all our families the best as we begin another school year. You and your child are a valued member of our school community, and we can’t wait to see our students back in our schools.

Student Schedules
HOME ACCESS CENTER & STUDENT SCHEDULES
The Home Access Center is available for you to view your student’s schedule. Please reach out to your child’s guidance counselor (contact information is below) with any issues or concerns about their schedule. The Home Access Center can be reached at the following link:

STUDENT ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE & PARKING PERMITS/INFO
Student Arrival and Departure Procedures: Students should report to their assigned bus stops ten (10) minutes prior to their assigned times. ALL students are directed to enter through door number 20 (entrance immediately to the left of the cafeteria – marked as AUDITORIUM above the doors) regardless of where their bus may drop off in the morning. Parent/Guardian Drop off/Pick Up will occur by using the main entrance off Veterans Drive and in the Green Lot (Farmhouse). Student Drivers must use the Red Lot Only and are NOT permitted to relocate to any other parking lot after school.

Traffic and Parking Information
For any student interested in obtaining a parking permit, he/she must make an appointment with the CASD Police at (484) 784-9118 or police@casdschools.org to arrange to make an appointment with an officer. For all student parking permit regulations please visit: Student Parking Rules and Regulations
*Please note that parking passes can be obtained tomorrow after school beginning at 2:30pm. CASD Police will be in the main office to review all necessary documents. Students MUST purchase a permit via REVtrak at the link below prior to picking up their permit. Students should wait outside the main entrance of CASH (on the sidewalk) and an officer will assist students one a time.
TCHS AND DCCC STUDENT INFORMATION
If your student attends TCHS, he or she will attend beginning Monday, August 28th. TCHS-AM students must be on their shuttle bus by 7:25 a.m. Students should board one of seven shuttle buses which will be located in front of the Coatesville Area Senior High School main office (Door #1).
Delaware County Community College students will report to DCCC on Monday, August 28th. The shuttle bus (Bus #10) will be located along the side of the Coatesville Area Senior High School near the music wing area. The DCCC bus will depart campus at 7:30 a.m.. Books were available at Back To School Night last week and can now be picked up in the main office from our secretary Ms. Karen Mobley. Please note that our DCCC students will be attending classes at the Downingtown Location.
Bell Schedule
Students will be following our regular bell schedule beginning on the first day. The bell schedule can be accessed at the following link: BELL SCHEDULE
Coatesville Area Senior High School opens at 7:05 a.m. Breakfast is provided as a free take-out service for all students. Students are expected to report to 1st period as soon as they arrive to the building and must be present in 1st period by 7:15 a.m.
ATTENDANCE INFORMATION
Regular school attendance is imperative for success in school. If your child is absent from school, please email the reason for the excuse that includes the date and purpose of the absence. You can email these to our attendance office at cashattendance@casdschools.org. Students can also bring notes down to the attendance window located in the main office.
If your child requires an early dismissal from school, a written note is required with the date, requested time for dismissal, purpose of the request and a contact number for verification. If your family is planning an educational trip or vacation, please submit those requests to the Attendance Office at least two weeks in advance of the absence. Please limit absences and appointments to emergencies only. Being present in school and actively participating is paramount to success.
CHROMEBOOKS AND TECHNOLOGY
Students should be prepared to have their chrome books in school with them daily. For assistance in any technology needs please visit CASD Technology Department for FAQ’s, How To’s, and Self-Help resources.
STUDENT COUNCIL NEWS & HOMECOMING INFO
Canvas Announcement Hub:
Next week, students will receive an invitation in their school email to join "The Announcement Hub,” a central location for information relating to the C.A.S.H. Student Council, Yearbook and more. Students should accept this invitation so they can stay informed about special events and activities happening throughout the year such as Homecoming, Student Section Themes, Positive Behavior Initiatives, etc.
Homecoming Information:
The 2023 Homecoming Dance will take place on Saturday, October 14 from 7 – 10 p.m. in the CASH Gym. Only students in grades 9-12 are eligible to attend - including guests from other high schools. Students who have already graduated are not permitted to attend. Tickets are $25 each. They will be sold during all lunches beginning Monday, October 2 through Friday, October 6. All Coatesville Students MUST present a photo ID to purchase a ticket. Any student bringing a student from another accredited high school must have their ID as well as a signed permission form IN HAND at the time they purchase their guest's ticket. These forms will be available online and in the main office beginning Monday, September 25. Additional details will follow once school is underway.
CASD POLICE and Security
The Coatesville Area Senior High School is fortunate to have a dedicated school resource officer (Officer Lauren Trego) and security officer (Officer Bambi Ott). Additionally, Officer Ron Simril will also be on campus and our Chief Of Police/Director of School and Public Safety (Frank Galbraith) also returns for the 2023-2024 school year.
