SCHOOL CLOSURE-Please read this important message!
Over the last several weeks, the coronavirus (COVID-19) has been the focus of many health concerns. Proactive school closures have been shown to be one of the most effective interventions that we can deploy. Proactive school closures are about keeping children safe while assisting in the protection of the health of the whole community.
After careful consideration and in cooperation with the the Montgomery County Health Department and other county school officials, Crawfordsville Community School Corporation will cease in-person instruction effective March 16, 2020, through March 20, 2020. Schools will utilize distance learning (eLearning) each of the next five school days to prevent the spread of the virus. Spring break will be observed from March 23-March 27 as previously scheduled.
Effective immediately, all school-related activities and extra-curricular events are canceled. Information will be forthcoming regarding rescheduled events. Crawfordsville Schools will continue conversations with the Montgomery County Health Department to monitor the current health conditions in Montgomery County and Central Indiana to determine the best course of action moving forward.
Teachers will be available during regular school hours to answer any questions. They will inform students and parents whether to use email, school phone, Canvas or Dojo for communication.
Both online assignments and written assignments will be sent home with students. If a student is absent March 13, please call the school to make arrangements to pick up student work next week. All work assigned during the 5-day period will be due when students return to school.
Crawfordsville Community School Corporation is closing school to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by limiting direct contact between students. Parents are encouraged to assist in this effort by keeping their children away from large gatherings of individuals. The school corporation will utilize the two weeks (including spring break) to continue our efforts in cleaning and sanitizing all areas of each building.
School meals will be provided each day next week. Location and other details are forthcoming.
We will provide updates as needed via direct emails to parents. Specific questions or concerns about the coronavirus should be directed to the Montgomery County Health Department at (765) 364-6440, the ISDH Epidemiology Resource Center at 317-233-7125 (317-233-1325 after hours) or your medical provider.
Thank you for your cooperation during this time of uncertainty,
Scott Bowling, Superintendent
Please look for a large envelope in your child's backpack. Inside are lessons to provide eLearning opportunities during the school closure due to the COVID-19 virus. Additional copies can be sent by email if needed, just contact your child's teacher. Thank you!

Substitute teachers needed!
We are still having children returned to school because there is no one to meet them at the bus stop. It's impossible for the drivers to arrive at exactly the same time every day due to traffic, trains, construction and varying schedules. Please be ready and waiting 15 minutes before your scheduled pick up and drop off time. Please read the transportation notice below!
If your child misses the bus picking them up and you can bring them to school, please drop off in car line. Our car line meets in the parking lot off Wabash Ave. Doors do not open for school until 7:50 AM for AM classes and 11:20 AM for PM classes. You cannot drop off earlier than those times.
