BOARD OF TRUSTEES UPDATES
Resignation
We would like to inform the community of the resignation of Miss Rebecca Jury. This will be effective from the end of the 2019 school year. On behalf of the community we would like to thank Rebecca for all that she has contributed during her time at our school. She will be missed and remembered with fond memories by many.
Policies and ProceduresNAG 1 - Curriculum was reviewed at our most recent BOT meeting. This has been updated and can be viewed on our school website.
Opting in to the Ministry of Educations Donation Scheme
At our November meeting the Board of Trustees voted and passed to opt into this scheme for the 2020 school year. This means that in 2020 parents will no longer be charged for items related to our school curriculum delivery, as this will be funded by the Ministry of Education. This will include the School Activity Fee and the Year 7 & 8 Technology fee. Parents will still be charged for "goods and services" such as school stationery, school lunches, entering sports teams etc.
This is exciting news for our school families which will see you all paying less for your children's participation in their schooling.
Awesome to see children being sunsmart at Toko School.
2020 SCHOOL DATES
TEACHER ONLY DAYS 2020
Our Collective Contracts were settled in Term 3 and an Accord agreed to. This Accord gives each school eight teacher only days, over the three year period of the contract. This is a way to reduce teacher workload. These dates have been set for 2020 and are on our school community calendar.
Term 1 - Friday 6th March - all schools in our Kahui Ako are closed on this day.
Term 2 - Friday 29th May
Term 3 - Monday 31st August - Stratford High is also closed on this day.
Term 4 - Friday 13th November

CHICKENS
This year we have around 10 -12 Red Shaver hens for sale. Each chicken is $25. We would like to keep them until the last week of school before they go off to their new homes. Chickens will be sold on a first come basis.
Also we have 10 smaller 3-4 month old chickens that need homes for the Christmas break.
If you would like to buy hens or house our smaller chickens over Christmas please contact Sasha on
HEADPHONES
Next year we will be asking students to supply their own set of headphones for school. These make good Christmas presents, so you might like to think ahead and buy them now. We recommend that students don't use earbuds as these don't have volume regulation and can be bad for hearing as well as it not being a good idea to put anything in your ear. Wireless headphones are the best and can be purchased quite cheaply at all electrical stores.
CAN YOU HELP?
