SVT & STEM Academy Newsletter

April Edition

Message from Katie:

SVT Families,

I hope this newsletter finds you well as we gear up for spring break and an opportunity for rest and relaxation! Something I have learned from my years in education is that March seems long, but once you return from break the weeks seem to fly by. We had a lot of fun in March; hopefully you follow our Facebook and website for updates as you could see some great things. I was especially thankful for the lucky staff members who got a face full of pie on Pi Day…mostly because I was not a recipient. We had some great visits from local businesses, also. Avista provided many students with a close look into multiple trades and WADOT showed students about the process of designing and building roads. We are looking forward to more class visits in April for a variety of programs - be sure your student is on the lookout for those! Please be sure to take a look at the entirety of this newsletter as it is packed with key information for the coming weeks and months. We will have a number of other communications coming throughout April regarding spring events, including state testing, senior activities, and MORE! If you are not receiving our emails or text messages, please let us know so that we can fix that. Our building will be closed next week as our staff and students enjoy some time away.

Have a great break!

Mrs. Louie

For week one, the winner was James McConnell for the $50 video game gift card. For week two, our winner was Cash Schneider for the Lego statue of liberty set. We look forward to having our last drawing for AirPods this Friday.

My name is Aaron Asmus, and I am one of the local Tour Directors for the US Kids Tournaments here in the inland northwest. For the first time in 5 years, US Kids Tournament Golf is coming back to our community.

US Kids Tournaments are designed for golfers age 5-18, across a wide range of playing abilities. From those who have never played a tournament before to the most seasoned competitors out there. The difference these events offer compared to other tournaments is they allow for parents/guardians to serve as a caddie for the kids playing in the events. With this support it helps increase the enjoyment and create a lifetime of memories between parent and child.

Attached you will find a flyer which outlines the tour and a schedule of events for our upcoming spring season. It would be wonderful if you would be able to share the information with the students of your schools in anyway. In addition, you will find links to the US Kids Golf page for more information on what their foundation is focusing on providing to kids throughout the world.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
