Principal’s Message
Cavett Families,
I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving holiday and is ready for the last couple of weeks before Winter Break. We are almost halfway, and our students and teachers have been busy, busy, busy. This month we have multiple district assessments that students need to take to give us data on their learning thus far.
Attendance is vital and affects students learning as well. There is a direct connection between attendance and success in the classroom. When students are not at school, they are missing instruction. Therefore, students need to be at school every day when they are not sick. The first bell rings at 8:20 am. If students arrive after 8:25 am.
Keep an eye out for important emails, Facebook updates, and phone calls from Cavett regarding important announcements. This month I'm sure several classes will have fun activities, and celebrations so be sure to check your child's backpack for notices as well.
Cavett wishes everyone a happy holiday. Please be safe out there, and we will see everyone back on January 7, 2024!
Warmest Regards,
Carol Leeson

Students/families and staff will be able to vote if desired by purchasing a $1 raffle ticket that will have the name selection choice on it. Whoever's ticket is pulled will win a picture with the mascot and the name on the ticket will be our mascot's new name! Proceeds for the raffle will go towards recycling bins for classrooms. We will run the raffle up until winter break.

Cavett Eagle Student of the Month
This month’s focus is Empathy. One way to think about Empathy is “understanding and connecting with other people’s feelings.” Empathy is a practice that can help us grow strong relationships. Empathy is 1 of 3 traits we will focus on throughout the year that helps students Be Kind. Throughout the school, students will be developing skills like perspective-taking, conflict resolution, and leadership.

Cell Phones
We have seen a lot of usage of cell phones and air pods during the school day. Please remind your student that if they bring their phone, air pods, smart watches etc. they need to keep it in their pocket or backpack, and we are not responsible for items lost or stolen. Students are not allowed to use electronics during class, passing period, etc. Students seen using electronics without permission will have items confiscated. You may view the TUSD Policy here.
Parent Dismissal
We are using the FetchKids Dismissal application. We will not release students before 2:30. School is out at 2:40. We will not walk your students across the street. You must park and can wait in the front of the school for your student to arrive. Please be mindful of the car line. It does not matter how old you are, no one likes it when someone cuts in front of the line. The dismissal line goes fast once we get started. Thank you for your patience.
Homework Help
Homework help is in the library every morning from 7:00—8:00 am.
