New Student Org - Roosevelt Institute Campus Network
Taking advantage of the unique resources on a college campus, this non-partisan chapter aims to engage in policy research and writing, and then connect the fruits of that research to the political process, delivering sound, progressive proposals to policymakers and advocacy groups. Moreover, we intend to hold campus-wide events to facilitate discussions about relevant social and political issues (particularly in reference to the community we live in).
No experience in policy writing is needed; there will be workshops held throughout the academic year.
If you're interested in joining and taking part in building this chapter from the ground up, shoot an email to ricntemple@gmail.com!
Honors Creatives Nipple Hunt (Philadelphia Museum of Art)
Instead of a night spent in front of the boob-tube, join us as we search for Diana, Cupid, and Prometheus during the Honors Creatives Nipple Hunt at the Philadelphia Museum of Art! The event will take place on Wednesday, April 30 from 5-8 and is FREE!! Prizes will be awarded!
Come to the Honors Lounge at 4:30 to head over as a group, or you can meet us on the steps of the PMA around 5:00.
You don’t have to be a Creative to attend, you just need a desire to look at… art! Stay abreast of the event and RSVP to honorscreatives@gmail.com (the more RSVPs, the bigger the prize!).
We hope to see you there!
Y-Center - Impactathon
May 30th to June 1st, 2014
1701 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103
This summer, the Y-Center will be hosting Impactathon, a 3 day event where students will be given a public health problem currently existing in Mozambique and asked to come up with a practical solution to it, with the help of Microsoft BizSpark. Students from all majors are invited, and each student will participate as part of a team of 2 (don't worry, you can register independently). The winning team will get a free scholarship to travel to Mozambique to implement their solution to the problem in real-life and make an impact in the Mozambiquan community, and runners up will receive a free Microsoft BizSpark membership, valued at $13,000. Please visit http://y-center.org/impactathon/ to register, or simply to find more information.
