Home Library Giveaway

The Home Library Giveaway targets low-income students and their families who lack the resources and expertise to create their own home library. This program is intended to raise student reading levels, promote at home family reading, develop a greater appreciation for literature, and increase the likelihood of academic reading success.

This school year, 50 families in ECISD will benefit from the Home Library Giveaway program, receiving a bookshelf filled with books AND each family will receive a $25 gift certificate to use at the school book fair. The program is active at Travis, San Jacinto, Noel, Burleson, and Dowling Elementary.

Travis Elementary surprised their 10 families on December 14th, while the other schools will be presenting their families with the bookshelf and books in the near future. Pictured is the Garcia family who were very happy to be a recipient of the Home Library Giveaway this year.
