Currently we are living in very unusual times and facing unique challenges. As a community we will get through these challenges, with the support of each other. A big thank you to all members of our community, students, teachers, staff members and parents in their support & understanding of each other. Managing Stress and Enhancing Performance - a talk by Dr John Shanahan

We hope everyone had a chance to view this video from earlier school newsletter: Managing Our Stress - Our Wellbeing Video

This video is one of the many initiatives funded by the ISPTA for the well-being of students and their families.

IS continue to be extremely impressed by the ways our community is pulling together and responding to the challenges presented by the current situation. However, IS also acknowledge the worries that students, parents and staff may well be experiencing.

IS brings you a video from John Shanahan, a psychologist from Central Health who works closely with Island School.

In this video John talks to us about how we can understand and manage our stress in order to enhance performance. It is particularly aimed at parents, and students in the Senior and Middle Phases, but is suitable for all.

Please note that this was filmed a little ago, so the introductory reference to the number of weeks of home learning - already completed and still to go - is no longer accurate. IS hopes you will find it interesting and supportive nonetheless.

ISPTA / Baiwan Student Committee Chinese New Year food sale

ISPTA and the Baiwan Student Committee teamed up to bring some Chinese New Year treats to students. With the help of our parent volunteers and students, a Food Stall sold traditional Chinese snacks at both campuses to raise money for Baiwan Charity.

Our combined efforts brought some excitement for students and raised $4,557 for Baiwan Charity.

We thank all our volunteers, food donors and underwriters for their support!

Please see some more photos from the event.
