Students who do not read in the summer often lose two months or more progress. Pierce County library offers a free summer reading program. Kids and adults can sign up in person or online at Then, track your reading to earn some really cool prizes for every 5 hours read!

At this time of year we say goodbye to treasured staff members and students who are moving on. Our fifth graders are moving to middle school and some other students are returning to their neighborhood school or are moving away. We are thankful for our time together and wish each and every one a happy future.

We are also going to dearly miss Mrs. Bell, Miss Apostol, Mr. Auton, Miss Milla, Mrs. Batzle, Mrs. Crossman, Mrs. Brewster, and Mrs. Van Wyhe. Each of these educators has been an intregal part of our school community. We wish them all the best!

Our Collins Coyotes have done a tremendous job of "achieving and believing" this year. We are extremely proud of the outstanding growth they have made and are grateful to every educator and parent who has contributed to their success. Thank you for sharing your children with us. We wish everyone a safe and happy summer and hope to see you again!

We are beginning our plans for next school year. During these next few weeks, we will order instruction materials and supplies that must be carefully coordinated in order for our school to run smoothly. To help us with this planning, please let us know if you are planning to move. If your student(s) are here on an overload basis from your home school, they will automatically go back to their home school.
